Privacy Policy

GutterFit.com ("GutterFit," "we," "our," or "us") operates the website https://gutterfit.com (the "Site"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the Site, how we use and share it, and the choices you have. By using the Site or submitting a quote request, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information we collect

Information you provide

When you request a quote, we ask for your ZIP code, the service you need, your property type, your full name, phone number, and email address ("Contact Information"). If you email us, we keep the content of that correspondence. If you review a finished job, we collect your star rating, your comment, and the name and city you choose to show.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our hosting and analytics providers automatically record technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, referring URL, pages viewed, time spent, and approximate location derived from your IP address ("Log Data"). If you arrive from an advertisement, we also record campaign identifiers (for example UTM parameters or a Google click identifier) so we can measure which ads work. To keep spam and automated abuse out of our forms, Cloudflare Turnstile checks each form submission using technical signals from your browser.

Cookies and similar technologies

We may use cookies, pixels, and browser storage to remember your session, measure traffic, and attribute conversions to advertising campaigns (for example Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Microsoft Clarity session analytics, the Meta Pixel and Google Ads conversion tracking). You can turn off Google Tag Manager, the Meta Pixel and Microsoft Clarity on our Your Privacy Choices page, and we apply the same choice automatically when your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal. You can also control cookies through your browser settings; disabling them may affect some features of the Site.

2. How we use your information

• To match your request with an independent local gutter contractor and forward your Contact Information to them;
• To contact you about your request by phone, text message, or email (see Section 4);
• To ask for and publish a review of a finished job, if you choose to send one (see Section 3);
• To operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the Site;
• To measure and optimize our advertising and marketing;
• To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service;
• To detect and prevent fraud, spam, and abuse.

3. How we share your information

Matched contractor. When you submit a quote request, you expressly authorize us to share your Contact Information and request details with one independent, third-party gutter contractor in our network that serves your area so that they can contact you and provide an estimate. That contractor is an independent business, is not controlled by GutterFit, and uses your information under its own privacy practices. If your first match cannot serve you, we may share your request with an alternate contractor so your request is not left unanswered.

Service providers. We use third-party vendors to host the Site, process form submissions, deliver email, and analyze traffic. These vendors may process your information only to perform services for us.

Legal and safety. We may disclose information when required by law, subpoena, or court order, or when we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of GutterFit, our users, or others.

Business transfers. If GutterFit is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

Reviews you publish

If you send a review with the private link we give you after a job, we publish your rating and comment together with the name and city you entered and the name of the contractor that did the work. We never publish your address, phone number or email. Your review stays published until you ask us to remove it; the contact details linked to it are deleted 24 months after you send it. To change or remove a review, email privacy@gutterfit.com.

We do not sell your Contact Information to unaffiliated data brokers or marketing lists. We do not share it with more than one contractor at a time except as described above.

4. Communications and consent to contact

By submitting your phone number and email address, you consent to receive calls, text messages (SMS/MMS), and emails from GutterFit and the matched contractor about your request, including messages sent using automated technology or prerecorded voice, even if your number is on a federal or state Do Not Call list. Consent is not a condition of purchasing any goods or services. Message and data rates may apply. You can withdraw consent at any time by replying STOP to a text message, telling the caller you no longer wish to be contacted, or emailing privacy@gutterfit.com.

5. Data retention

We keep quote requests for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill your request, resolve disputes, maintain business records, and comply with legal obligations, generally no longer than 24 months after your last interaction with us, unless a longer period is required by law. Quote requests and messages stored by the Site are deleted automatically 24 months after they are received. You may request deletion sooner as described in Section 8.

6. Security

The Site is served over HTTPS, form submissions are screened for automated abuse, access to stored requests is limited to authorized staff and logged, and we use commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information. No method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Children's privacy

The Site is intended for adults who own or manage property. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

8. Your privacy rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to limit certain uses, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.

California residents (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose; to request deletion; to correct inaccurate information; and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We do not sell your personal information for money. Sharing your request with one matched contractor is done at your direction to fulfill your request. Our use of advertising cookies may be considered "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising under California law; you can opt out on our Your Privacy Choices page, with a Global Privacy Control signal, or by contacting us. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes other than those permitted by law.

Other U.S. state privacy laws

Residents of states with comprehensive privacy laws (including Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana, and others) may have similar rights, including the right to appeal a decision we make about your request.

How to exercise your rights

Email privacy@gutterfit.com with the subject line "Privacy Request" and tell us what you would like us to do. We will verify your identity by matching the details you provide with the information in our records and respond within the time required by applicable law (generally 45 days). You may designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf.

Do Not Track

Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" signal. Because there is no common standard, the Site does not currently respond to these signals. We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals as a request to opt out of sale or sharing: when your browser sends one, the Meta Pixel and Microsoft Clarity are not loaded and Google Analytics runs without advertising features.

9. Third-party websites

The Site may link to third-party websites, including contractor websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites and encourage you to read their policies.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when it was last revised. Material changes will be posted on this page, and your continued use of the Site after they are posted means you accept the updated policy.
