Can you put gutters on a tile roof?
Yes. The gutter attaches to the fascia board, not to the tile, so the roof material does not prevent gutters. The complications are practical: barrel tile overhangs the eave by an inch or two, tiles crack if a crew stands on the edge, and the smooth surface throws water farther than shingles do.
How gutters are attached on tile roofs
Installers experienced with Central Florida tile roofs typically use one of these approaches:
- Fascia-mounted hidden hangers screwed through the gutter back into solid fascia, at the spacing the gutter profile and manufacturer specify
- Roof-strap hangers under the first course of tile when the fascia cannot take screws, set carefully so tile and underlayment are not damaged
- Fascia riser brackets or a drip-edge extension so the gutter sits under the tile overhang

- Corners and valleys where water currently overshoots or stains the wall

What a tile-roof gutter quote should say
Look for the hanger type and spacing, gutter size, downspout size, whether any tile will be lifted and re-set, how the crew will protect the edge tiles, and the workmanship warranty. A quote that does not mention the tile at all is a sign the contractor has not thought about it.
